|Endoscopy Clinic Renovations
Sentara Leigh Hospital
Project included plumbing, fire protection, HVAC and electrical design for a (4) Procedure Room Endoscopy Clinic within an operating hospital facility. An existing Physical Therapy area was renovated for this new clinic, which relocated and expanded an existing Endoscopy suite. Design effort included phasing of work so that adjacent departments in the hospital would remain in service during construction. Plumbing, HVAC and electrical designs involved modifications to existing systems beyond the renovation area.
Plumbing design involved installation of fixtures, trim and piping, and modifications required by the renovated area. Existing medical gas systems (oxygen/vacuum/medical air) were expanded from the adjacent Operating Suite for the new clinic services. A new HVAC airside system, including variable air volume air-side and hot water re-heat piping, was provided for the procedure temperature/humidification/filtration requirements and for the floor plan arrangement: Project scope included verification of central system capacities prior to demolition and revision. Electrical design effort involved lighting, power, emergency power, fire alarm and provisions for low voltage systems (furnished and installed by separate vendors), which included nurse call, data, telephone, cable TV, intercom, security, telemetry, and patient headwall systems.
Specifications were prepared using the Masterspex guide specifications for divisions 13, 15 and 16: All 21 drawings were prepared using AutoCADD Version 2002.
