Environmental Protection System for Library and Archival Material
Mariners’ Museum

Description and Features

Areas of the museum containing the storage library, the archives, and the associated administrative and research areas were previously served by multiple constant volume hydronic air-handling units. In addition to approaching the end of the service life, the units provided an unacceptable risk of water damage to stored materials below the ceiling mounted units. The replacement system will provide a non-hydronic system to maintain concise temperature, humidity and air quality conditions.

The project has been successfully bid and is seeking a Federal grant to assist in funding.
